The Season of Affirmations: The Crushing Mentorship Program - 8 Weeks
The Season of Affirmations: The Crushing Mentorship Program - 8 Weeks
The Purpose: When we look at the definition of "affirmation" it is very straightforward. Affirming the truth. There is not a better place to start affirming truths than the Bible. Bible truths strengthen everything about us. The promises God gives us in His word can give us hope and direction, as we trust in Him. For the word of God is alive and powerful. He speaks things into existence with His words. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. (Hebrews 4:12 NLT)
Affirmation is Defined as: The act or an instance of affirming; state of being affirmed; the assertion that something exists or is true.
Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
(Genesis 1:3 NLT)
Affirmation Renew Our Minds
Reflection Points: When we affirm Bible truths, we are changing ourselves into vessels of light. We will see good fruit sprouting inside of us. His word says we will be like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. God’s word helps us to think of things we normally wouldn’t of on our own. His word gives us clear direction with our lives, shining light in the darkness. We start to get to know God’s heart more and His good, pleasing, and perfect will. It starts by renewing our minds in His word.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2 NLT)
Start To Clean The Inside – Soul Work
Reflection Points: Affirmations help prevent negative self-talk. So many times, throughout the day our minds can wonder on us. We think and say things that can drag us down. Even the people around us are affected by our attitude. Our pride can get in our way very easily. It is important to let God's word change us from the inside out. We can say bad things about ourselves, other people, and just about everything without even realizing it. We can start becoming ungrateful and get pulled in a direction that does us no good. With God’s word, we can start to be lifted-up by His grace. As we grow in His word, we start to discover and recognize all our blessings. We can take every thought captive and bring it under the authority and power of Jesus Christ and grow as children of God.
We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. (II Corinthians 10:5 NLT)
Prevent Attacks from the Enemy
Reflection Points: When Jesus was in the wilderness being tempted by the devil, He would quote scriptural truths. It's so important to grow in the word of God so we can recognize the attacks of the enemy. The Bible also tells us we should put on the armor of God! As we grow in the Word, so does our armor! We are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies. There is a spiritual warfare that we need to be equipped for. (Read Mathew 4)
